Add to Cart DownloadDHARAMSALA, INDIA - A Buddhist nun prays at the Dalai Lama's compound in Dharamsala, India. There are three major nunneries in the Dharamsala area. The Gaden Choeling Nunnery, was founded in 1973 and the Dolma Ling and Shugseb Nunneries were founded in the early 1990's. The daily routine in the nunneries consists of meditation, prayer and debate, the reading of scriptures, the performance of religious ceremonies and the training of young nuns. (Photo © Jock Fistick)
